COURSES

The curriculum of Bachelor of Psychology programme is updated once every five years. Currently there are two curricula that apply, namely Curriculum of 2009 for students of Class 2012 and earlier, and Curriculum of 2014 for students of Class 2013 and later. Curriculum of 2014 is the redesign of Curriculum of 2009. The academic burden applies Semester Credit System (Sistem Kredit Semester/SKS).

CURRICULUM OF 2009

In curriculum of 2009, student must take at least 145 sks to be able to graduate as Sarjana Psikologi (Bachelor of Psychology).

Note:

  • University Compulsory Courses are basic courses according to the university curriculum policy.
  • Core Compulsory Courses are basic and advanced courses designed by the Faculty of Psychology Universitas Airlangga based on the Colloquium agreement to support predetermined competencies building for graduates of the programme.
  • Majoring Compulsory Courses are advanced courses designed by the Faculty of Psychology Universitas Airlangga to provide enrichment in particular area of interest which will be necessary competencies the community needs in the future. These courses prepare the Bachelor of Psychology from Faculty of Psychology Universitas Airlangga to have competitiveness among other graduates, both from local and overseas programmes. Majoring Compulsory Courses are divided into four major which students can choose, namely Educational and Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology and Personality, Industrial and Organisational Psychology, and Clinical Psychology and Mental Health.
  • Elective Courses are courses for knowledge enrichment designed by the Faculty of Psychology Universitas Airlangga. These courses aim to offer opportunities for students to improve their knowledge by learning courses outside their major.
  • Note: Students will have opportunity to take Majoring Compulsory Courses outside their major, but they will not be accounted into the minimum 145 sks to graduate. For instance, students from Social Psychology and Personality major can take compulsory courses from Educational and Developmental Psychology major, Clinical Psychology and Mental Health major, and Industrial and Organisational Psychology major, however the sks taken will not be accounted into the minimum 145 sks as the requirement for graduation.

  • Programme Compulsory Courses are basic and advanced courses which are designed by Bachelor of Psychology programme, Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Airlangga to obtain learning objectives of Bachelor of Psychology graduates in Faculty of Psychology Universitas Airlangga.
  • Elective Courses are advanced courses which are designed by Faculty of Psychology Universitas Airlangga to provide enrichment in some particular filed of interest – in line with the demand in the community and psychological science and research advancement. This course provides graduates from Bachelor of Psychology Universitas Airlangga with skills to compete with other domestic and overseas graduates. Elective courses are divided into 4 majoring that students can choose, namely Educational and Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology and Personality, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and Clinical Psychology and Mental Health. Students must decide their major and take all elective courses of their major and at least one (1) course of other majors.

INTERNATIONAL CLASS

  1. Academic Mobility Exchange for Undergraduate at Airlangga (AMERTA). Bachelor of Psychology Programme offers some courses for international class centrally managed by Universitas Airlangga.
  2. Inbound-outbond student mobility UNAIR-UUM. Bachelor of Psychology programme and School of Applied Psychology, Social Work, and Policy, Universiti Utara (Malaysia) organizes student exchange from both programme, where students from each one will study for one semester in the partner-institution with a credit transfer system.
  3. 2+2 Articulation Program (collaboration with QUT, Australia). This programme is a collaboration between Bachelor of Psychology programme with School of Psychology and Counselling, Queensland University of Technology (Australia) which offers double degree. Students will spend their first two years in UNAIR and the next two years in QUT.
